Comments and questions here are very important to keep this documentation fresh and relevant. Please explain your problem or suggestion clearly and, if possible, include a URL so I can take a look. Thanks in advance!
josh< i bought this template and was one of the original people to test it for you. May I have the updated version please?
Also, does the site take rss feeds to build up the content?
Andy, thanks for the contact. You can contact me directly about the update (contact form). It’s not a free upgrade from the previous version but I’ll be offering a special coming up soon-ish.
As for RSS feeds, there is a core WordPress module that can handle it but the next version will have a better way of doing that. So, yes and better soon!

Looking forward to the Webfonts integration! I’m not launching til Late Spring – Early Summer, so hopefully it’ll be completed by then.
I suppose there’s a way rig it myself, but I’m not using child themes here and really don’t want to mess with the core code and lose it during an upgrade.
Thanks for the comment!
Adding Google Fonts is actually quite easy… so much so that I’m not sure that I’ll build it into the template. The CSS link that give you can go into the “Additional Header Code” on the WP-Drudge Options page and the CSS (the font page gives you an example) goes into the “Additional CSS” box.
I’ll write up a quick how-to soon…
How do I set the link color for listed links. I want to choose to set an individual link in a particular category to be another color that stands out (i.e. red).
I have looked, but it appears you can only set link color per link for posts. Is there something I am overlooking or is there a quick fix or an update for this to be released very soon?
Thank you, love the theme!
EJ
Sorry for the delay… unfortunately, nothing like that really exists at the moment and I don’t know how many folks would have a use for that. Worst case, you can color each link individually.
Thank you for the response, I have stumbled around for hours trying to do that within the theme.
Do You know how I can change the color for a particular link listed in a link category? That is one big reason I bought the theme, so I could highlight certain links in red :)
I’ve tried it in HTML, but I’ve never been a pro at HTML, and I always run into so issue that kicks my @zz. As for CSS, I’m so grateful you have posted the common needs for that and made it so easy to add!
Thank you again, EJ
Hi again,
2 questions:
1. Do You know how I can change the color for a particular link listed in a link category? You mentioned above it can be done individually by link… how?
2. In a related question, on a post, I entered a color and selected to show a border under the post but when I saved the post neither of these options displayed. The post was posted first without these options, then I tried to edit it to show these options, but no change. Is this a bug, or is there a related setting somewhere that must be selected for these to show up per post?
Thank you!
Sorry I didn’t respond to the other question, slipped through the cracks!
This is no way, currently, to color a link based on it’s category. You can, however, give each link its own color:
http://wpdrudge.com/docs/adding-posted-links (step #6)
For #2, I’m not sure what the problem is there. You might not have a valid color in there, that’s a common problem (I’ll get a color chooser in there soon). For the border, as long as you’re on the current version, it should add a border there. I’ll double-check before this release but I fixed a bug with that. You can see borders under specific stories on the demo page:
http://wpdrudge.com/curation/
Hmmm, the only way the link color works in the second case above for me is if I also check the check box to show the post on the front page as a featured post, and then the line doesn’t show there either.
I know I’m using a correct hex color and I have the most recent version of the theme.
In #1 above, doesn’t that involve ALL links being red or whatever you choose? I read the material you linked and I see no solution for either. I discovered I can put a link in a text widget in the theme, but have not tried it yet.
I really want to get the post link color and line to work, but it just isn’t working. It appears to still be an unresolved bug for my site. I purchased the theme with this latest version, so there was no update issue involved.
Looking forward to your response.
Thank you,
EJ
I will take another look before the next release but I can’t seem to replicate this issue on my end. Borders on individual links and the color works fine.
If you have a chance, take screenshots of your settings pages and send them to i@wpdrudge.com and I’ll see if it’s a weird combination of settings that’s causing the problem. The other thing to try is to deactivate all your plugins and delete (copy/paste it somewhere) any “Additional CSS” you’ve added. The most common “bug” by far is an interfering plugin.
Thanks EJ and sorry for the trouble.
I spoke with someone that has this theme and he mentioned that a new update / version is coming out in the next day or two?
Jeff: it just got finished today and released to the existing user base. It’s available at the current price ($69) for the next week or so. Information here!
